Barb has been grooming for 23 years, 12 of which have been spent in Manhattan. She has also been active in dog shows & agility competitions for the past 25 years. Her experience is widespread & involves multiple breeds of dogs as she has owned multiple breeds of her own. Barb recently took the steps toward becoming a Certified Master Groomer. As of June 2011, she is now certified in Non-Sporting Breeds (a.k.a. Poodles) after testing with the NDGAA (National Dog Grooming Association of America) in Denver, Colorado.
Zelda Contreras
Zelda comes to us from California where she managed a local grooming facility & received her grooming certification through the PetSmart Grooming Academy. She has 6 years of dog grooming experience which also includes 3 years of cat grooming experience.
Barbara Gassmann
Barbara (nicknamed “Nanna”) joined Bark Avenue full time during the summer of 2011. She has been crafting her grooming skills for the past year & a half. Her past experiences working with children have allowed her to develop patience with many of her grooming clients who require that special individualized understanding.
Jennifer Throener
Jennifer has been grooming for 7 years. Her training includes PetSmart Grooming Academy as well as the Precision Grooming Academy in New Mexico. Her grooming experiences include being trained in Show Grooming as well as Creative Grooming. She is continually trying to expand her grooming techniques as she plans to eventually become certified as a master groomer.
Katie Kanapsky
Kate has returned to Bark Avenue. She is available for grooming appointments on Monday's, Wednesday's & Friday's. More info. coming soon!
